Monica Smit unleashed!

It’s been a great few weeks for Melbourne’s freedom fighters. As I detailed in this blog post, Avi Yemini (who you will remember from Battleground Melbourne if you’re not already following his work!) recently received an apology from Victoria Police for their unlawful arrests.

In other news this week two press photographers who were illegally targeted by VicPol have received compensation. (Paywalled article)

And now something even better has happened. Victoria Police have withdrawn all charges against Monica Smit, founder of Reignite Democracy Australia and hero of the resistance movement in Melbourne during the height of the lockdowns.

Let me jog your memory in case you haven’t yet seen Battleground Melbourne yet (you can watch it for free at that link). Monica Smit spent weeks in prison, including weeks in solitary confinement, because she stood up to Victoria Police and their abuse / misuse of bail conditions.

The police charged Monica with ‘Incitement’ for encouraging others to exercise their human rights, and then slapped such outrageous bail conditions on her that Monica simply couldn’t accept them… to accept them would have meant handing over everything to the government, her social media accounts, bank accounts, email database, deleting all her past work, and ceasing any opposition to the government.

That’s a blatant Human Rights violation, and shows just how bankrupt Victoria Police had become in their mad rush to serve the every whim of Dictator Dan. Using bail conditions to shut down political activity? That’s the stuff of tinpot dictatorships, but they tried to get away with it right here in Australia.

Thankfully Monica stood her ground, but she paid an awful price for her courage, as you’ll remember from the stories she shared in Battleground Melbourne. Weeks of solitary confinement, strip searching, no sun, fresh air, not even books or a tv, all without knowing when it would end as it drags on for WEEKS…

It’s a high price to pay for standing up for your principles and protecting the identity of your supporters and must have taken a terrible toll psychologically and emotionally, but Monica paid that price and was willing to do it again if she had to.

But thankfully, she won’t have to. As Monica explains in this post on the Reignite Democracy Australia website, the charges have been dropped!

To quote from the Police themselves:

“The Director of Public Prosecutions has decided to discontinue the incitement charges on the basis that there is no longer a public interest in pursuing these matters, given the time Ms Smit has already spent in custody. For the same reason, the s 465AA order (password warrant) will not be enforced.

Go to the link to see what Monica herself had to say in a video about it all, and what it means for her and RDA going forward.

And as I said at the start, this of course comes on the back of Victoria Police issuing a formal apology to Avi Yemini for three unlawful arrests, and paying compensation to two photographers they illegally targeted during protests… There definitely seems to be a reckoning taking place in VicPol, and if the current evidence is anything to go by it seems that they’re realising they’ve gone too far… WAY too far… and they’re trying to get ahead of the consequences before it all catches up to them.

It’s a wonderful bit of good news, and whilst it’s far from the end of the fight for Monica or for the rest of us, and there are many of us still up on charges, we should celebrate with Monica and look forward to what she moves on to next. As she puts it in her post:

Now I have a new set of wings, and we’re going global to fight back against globalist organisations like WHO and WEF.

Grab your popcorn folks. She’s been tried, tested, and passed with flying colours. Now the chains are off and whatever happens from here you can be sure it’s going to be something special.

  1. This is such excellent news for Monica. I am thrilled to hear the charges have been dropped against her. It’s a victory for Monica and I pray she will now go on from strength to strength and will move forward with more good in tow. God bless you, Monica, I was praying you would be set free from the injustice that was hurled against you. I am hoping the perpetrators who have done this to you and going to get the comeuppance soon and with a double helping.

  2. “there is no longer a public interest in pursuing these matters”
Maybe the wording should have read…

there is no longer a public interest in pursuing these matters because there’s an election and this will remind people…

I hope she sues the …. out of them!

  3. Monica deserves a hero’s thanks for her integrity. How many of us would have refused to give personal information about others to get off charges?
