A voice of reason discusses a voice of reason (and is blogged about by another voice of reason?)

Is this the ‘inception’ of reason?

Real Rukshan is a rare breed. A measured, level headed, fair minded, but firm and uncompromising campaigner.

You don’t often get all of that in one person, and I find Rukshan particularly interesting simply because, for me, he seemed to come ‘out of nowhere’ and all of a sudden there he was doing spectacular work covering the protests and making videos like this one:

When I stepped out and spoke at the very first Australian anti-lockdown protest on April 25th 2020, I felt very much alone. But it didn’t take long before I discovered so many amazing and interesting people coming out of the woodwork, each in their own way raising their voice and making a difference in these strange and uncertain times.

In the video above, Rukshan is making an important point; that we must give credit where it is due to the (few) politicians willing to speak up! We must support them, praise them, let them know they speak for many constituents and are not ‘out on a limb’ alone.

We must not let ‘perfect’ be the enemy of ‘good’. If a politician (or anyone else) says or does something ‘good’ during these times, let’s not split hairs! Let’s support them and ensure that they too know they are not alone.

Watch Rukshan’s video above and be encouraged, if a sitting MP of the ruling party in NSW can find the courage to publicly come forward in the way she has done and dissent from her own parties policies, then times are changing!
